Skin-to-Skin : An animation for the VCU Medical Center

When I found out I could help the Medical School here in Richmond with my animation in an internship setting, I was thrilled.

Skin-to-Skin is a procedure promoted by the Virgina Commonwealth University Medical School that helps newborns enter the world in a healthy manner for both the baby’s physical health and the health of the relationship between the mother and the baby. Though the health benefits for this birth related procedure go on and on, it has only recently come to the public’s attention. To help explain the approach, we collaborated to put together a gentle, sweet, and tasteful explanation of the the Skin-to-Skin method.

I was given a voice over of the wonderful certified Nurse-Midwife Amber Price explaining Skin-to-Skin to edit, build a storyboard and animatic for, and finally put to an animation.
